Scales of the Empire
When the first and only Vrokani invasion threatened the whole of the continent, the dragons responded with swift action. Though the barbarians’ advance was crushed, the first dragonlord of Vrokan was slain in the struggle. With no heir to speak of, the province was in need of new leadership. However, no dragon wished to take the title upon themselves, disgusted with the idea of governing a lawless, backwater place.
In light of the his court’s unwillingness, the Dragon Emperor appointed a new dragonlord himself: a young, spirited thunder dragon named Korgas. The reason for this decree was no secret. Korgas is ambitious to a fault, and this was the Dragon Emperor’s means of either tempering the young dragon’s attitude or forcing his hand. Initially, Korgas knew the assignment was an insult and viewed it as such. He cared little for governing the tribes, oftentimes destroying the barbarians as it suited his whims. Time spent in Vrokan, however, has sparked further ambitions in the thunder dragon, seeing the Vrokani and their relentless nature. Instead of mice scurrying from day to uncertain day, Korgas now sees potential.
And Korgas will have the power he feels is so rightly his.
